Taman Botany Shah Alam 6 August 2022
I must say this is my second week with the R7 and the RF 100-500 and I admit is it going to be my primary equipment for me for all my wildlife trip. :) not to say this year is going to be a busy year :)
I took a trip to Taman Botany after sending my wife for a meet up. Hoping for raptor - the main reason for this camera upgrade - I got the Black Thighed Falconet.
One Individual was observed perching however lighting were not very very good. Still im impressed with the result handheld.
Later while walking around this Common Iora provided a short brief view and opportunity for a shot.
While the rest of the morning are rather quite some other bird we seen around the area were the Long Tailed Parakeet, Little Spiderhunter, Olive Winged Bulbul, Red eyed Bulbul, Pin striped Tit Babbler, Black Naked Oriole and interestingly one migratory Oriental Honey Buzzard. All of which did not provide any photo opportunity except for this Pacific Swallow.
The RF100-500 is also a versatile lens especially for people like me who prefer to walk and do not want to carry many equipment. The set up enable me for some butterfly shot and also dragonfly shot as in below.
Common Lime Butterfly
Grey Pansy a common species in this area.
In all the today wildlife trip only resulted to one squirrel which was not identified. Perhaps batter luck next time.
