Cameron Highland 28 Aug 2022 - Day 2
Trying to change my luck with big success which I will share at the end of this blog I headed to Brinchang. One of the few spot I must visit. Birding the old fashion way is always interesting and rewarding. This time without call and other assistant we rely on walking and tracing the bird one by one.
Arriving in the area a familiar call of the Grey Headed Canary Flycatcher was heard and soon we saw the bird.
Later on the trail was this Large Niltava. Again both male and female were heard first but we can only photograph the male. I was actually more hoping for his cousin to show up.
A faint call of the Pgymy Wren Babbler got bot me and Eileen waited and only a short glimpse they provide to us. Soon a White Tailed Robin was seen from a distance rock.
The Lesser Shorting never provide a long look but did manage its way into our list. At the same location and time we heard the Malayan Partridge. We decided to position ourself for the partridge looking down on the ridge. After a while waiting our effort is pay off with 2 Malayan Partridge was seen moving quickly. Together with the flock were the Malayan Laughingthrush. Soon walking around we got the Mountain Leaf Warbler.
Some Spectacle Laughthrush came in to the tree and while we were busy trying to photograph the Mountain Tailorbird a group of Bar Winged Flycatcher Shrike came in. Nice I will say.
Last but not least in Brinchang is this Rufous Browed Flycatcher. I must say I was amaze as I was photographing this handheld using the RF100-500 attach to the R7.
Later I decided to bird near the town. While I got mostly the normal bird I do see this Red Headed Trogon.
Other species we sighted today were the Golden Throated Barbet which make a brief stop before jumping off.
So as I mention earlier in this post how did I change my luck. I must say the night before we saw this restaurant called the "Good Luck Ba But Teh" :)
I told myself let give it a try maybe tomorrow is a batter day. :)
Amon other species we seen in the morning of Day 2 including Blue Winged Minla, Silver Eared Mesia, Mountain Tailorbird, Fire Breasted Flowerpecker, Mountain Bulbul, Crested Serpent Eagle, Fire Tufted Barbet.
