Cameron Highland 29 August 2022 - Day 3
The Cameron Highland finale. Early in the morning itself we are already greeted by a male Red Headed Trogon with one already in breeding. So the day have a powerful start. We move forward to the birding site. Soon we sighted Green Magpie nesting. This one however keep itself directly above us and stay higher up.
Next was me rescuing a Little Cuckoo Dove drop from the sky. But soon we got some Barred Cuckoo Dove above us as well. I must say there was maybe about 20 of them around in the morning.
Having to walk that site previously I try my luck again and there was this Black and Crimson Oriole around.
Some Orange Bellied Leafbird flying in and out.
Soon the rain catch up with us again. But waiting under a shelter we got this lone Streaked Spiderhunter feeding on the nectar.
After the rain a short drive from the site we saw this lone Crested Serpent Eagle. I must say this individual show the most confident plumage of the Malayensis subspecies. Hey not bad at all for the whole day.
Other species we recorded todaySpectacle Laughingthrush - a small group were sighted int he area
White Throated Fantail- Heard only
Large Niltava - One Male was observed perching of telecom line
Malayan Partridge - A small group was heard calling very near to us however we did not wait for the bird.
Blue Winged Minla - A small group of about 8-10 was observed in a flock together with Orange Bellied Leafbird
Hume White Eye - A small flock was observed with the Black and Crimson Oriole
