Wader Watching Perak 12 September 2020
I got to be very honest that this was not suppose to be a wader watching trip. It was not planned for that and never in our mind we thought of that. Nevertheless some detour is required due to some unforeseen reason and we went from one site to another. So we technically ended up here taking into consideration I'm avoiding the Sharp Tailed Sandpiper record.
To my surprise there was at least a few hundred probably thousand of wader in the area. It was amazing to see all the wader with 3 species of tern greeted us which are the Gull Billed Tern, Common Tern and also Little Tern. Wader were not left out but I must say most of them are rather distance away. First to make into our list were the Curlew Sandpiper.
Fulling my wish list to get a record shot of the Broad Billed Sandpiper and I got it this time.
From a distance away the Asian Dowitcher.
And near to them the Intermediate Egret.
Lots of Sand Plover around both Greater and Lesser. I believe the below is Lesser Sand Plover
Red Necked Stint did try to come near but very shy
Lets say if you leave by the coast seafood will be a good choice. Well at least some species have the same thought such as this Terek Sandpiper...
... and also this Common Redshank
Some other whom also thinking of having crab for lunch were this Collared Kingfisher
One for way out how can we even say no to one Dollarbird which have been sitting posting for us.
