Blyth's Hawk Eagle

The nest was told to us since last year. However we were less fortunate as no nest was observed for this species last year. This year Nature Core Raptor Research Unit were more lucky as we saw this nest was active again and one eaglet in it. At current time we estimated the age was about max 14 days. A probably female eaglet the adult female stay near by keeping its watch full eye on this young one. No feeding behaviour was noted.

It was not easy to sex a young eaglet apart from one another. The team have resorted in using a technique apply for other raptor such as buzzard, kite, harrier and some other species to sex this young bird. Nevertheless we can only go as far as possibility. Though my video did not turn out as what I wish but our team will continue our observation on this species.
