Wader watch Sungai Janggut - 1st October 2023

After being quarantine at home for a while I decided to do some easy birding where I can sit and wait. So I decided to head to Sungai Janggut where I can do exactly that. First in view was a pair of Collared Kingfisher. Than come to the sight of this Common Kingfisher. This one is still very shy. It did not perch near enough for us to take a good photo but good enough for record shot.

There was also flock of wader flying from their high tide resting area to the beach. Here are some which is visible immediately. The Curlew Sandpiper

The Terek Sandpiper this time move less and manage to give some opportunity for record shot.

Photography get even more challenging as the tide move further away and to make situation worse the heat wave was bad. However the Lesser Sandplover was too cute to leave it unnoticed.

As tide move further digiscope seem to be the only option to take a photo. Below are 2 wader taken at least 5000mm. The Great Knot and...

...the Bar-Tailed Godwit

Some other wader which is at the distance are the Eurasian Curlew.

There is some other wader around with we did not manage to photograph such as the Common Redshank, Common Greenshank, Red Necked Stint, Ruddy Turnstone, and Red Knot.

In all it was not a bad trip considering I was just sitting and waiting. :)
