Taman Botany Shah Alam
A walk with some friend in conjunction with the Global Big Day event. With Mr Andy leading the trip I hop on to the trip to assist. We sighted 45 species of bird for the morning exercise but im sure the team have no argument when I say it was not a very productive day compare to other session we have.
Nevertheless some of the species we see and photograph such as the
White Rumped Shama where we spotted a pair flew cross the road and so on.
Later we heard the Banded Broadbill and long after we saw one individual in the area.
3 species of bulbul sighted which is the Yellow Vented Bulbul, Red Eyed Bulbul and the Olive Winged Bulbul. Only the Olive Winged Bulbul were photographed today,2 Leafbird were identified which is a Blue Winged Leafbird and Lesser Green Leafbird. The later was photograph
TBSA is not only good for bird. It is also a spot for butterfly and many species can be observed there such as this Malay Lacewinged.
Interesting species account
1. Changeable Hawk Eagle. 2 were observed in the area in flight.
2. Large Woodshrike. 2 were heard calling and seen. Later there were a few more heard.
3. Black Winged Flycatcher Shrike. 2 were observed on a dead tree.
4. Fluffy Backed Tit-Babbler. at least five representing different group were heard and seen.
5. Indian Cuckoo. One were heard
6. Banded Bay Cuckoo. One heard
7. Blue Crowned Hannging Parrot. A few were observed in the area.
8. Chestnut Breasted Malkoha. Only one were observed at canopy level
