It was a last minute decision to go up to this site. One of the reason we both notice we have not set foot in this location for years. So why not give it a try. I must say we both still have the same complaint of which is the entrance fee which cost us MYR14 per person. For those who do not mind this is ok however not to me. I felt the price is too steep in for the area and taking into consideration we need to pay for everything we do there.
Still birding only after 1pm as I need to skip the morning part to give way for some family matter. Bids were very slow in the area. We started our without much. Only one Ashy Bulbul make it way for a short view. Then some Grey throated babbler was heard calling. Mammal was first to provide some long view and a photographic opportunity. That is the Dusky Langur. Only one was around and was not shy.
An 4k video for everyone enjoyment.
It was not long after when 2 Sooty Barbet cam in and with back lighted and later decided to flew further for a short perch. Photo below taken at about 4900mm maximising the capacity of the digiscope. I must say im happy with the result.
The video was also taken through maximising the zoom of the scope and camera resulting to approximately 4900mm. See video below.
Some other bird come in and go such as the Blue Winged Leafbird. 2 were observed and not to missed out 2 species of hornbill namely the Helmeted Hornbill and the Rhinoceros Hornbill. 2 Orange Breasted trogon were calling and one provided a short glimpse of it without much success of photography.
A pair of Raffles Malkoha with tier typical behaviour of squirrel like moving from tree to tree. Not to forget some commoner cousin the Green Billed Malkoha was also observed.
