Today plan was rather long drive but we did it anyway. Visiting some heronry we are please to see some of the juvenile are doing great. Nevertheless the lesser Cattle Egret also probably marked the ending of their peak season. Probably only a few nest wast left behind. Number of Black Crowned Night Heron are still high. Besides I guess they are more used to human being around. Some are surprisingly close.
Our excitement we not only on the heronry, the Grey Tit was respecting a nesting hole and female was observed going into the hole presumably end of the nesting season was another great sight for the area. It was approximately 200 meter away from another Grey Tit nest I observed a few years back. Tit are rather unique, at time they have two nesting hole near to each other on the same branch and go to both the hole. Hmph. I will never know why.
Not leaving behind with all this excitement, a pair of House Crow did join us.
While one of the partner in crime was interested in another place I was more interested with Openbill. We headed to the new another site for looking for Openbill. There we nailed only Oriental Honey Buzzard orientalists subspecies. If this bird is early or overstay I will be only a guess. Anyway. I headed to some other location later on to look for Openbill. Equip with Digiscope only, and at mid day, nothing was on my side. Bird are more caution and heat wave are challanging the equipment to do their best. I took a few shot anyway. Surprisingly only this spot which is probably less then 5 percent of the entire area have Openbill of such number. Why this location? I guess I will never know.
