Hulu Langat 12 July 2020
After everyone was making headline for a Buffy Fish Owl and also Rufous Backed Kingfisher, I decided maybe I should also join them. This morning did not start off well with dark cloud and started to rain when we have breakfast. However with optimistic mind I push on and drive to the car park. It was still raining so only chance I have is to wait for the rain to died down. While we were waiting some species such as the Orange Bellied Flowerpecker did turn out. At that time the rain did not show sign of giving in. Nevertheless near to 10 am in the morning we got our breakthrough. So we decided to head out for birding and not long later more and more bird was insight. Until Eileen raised up and said something pinkish in the front was sighted high up in the tree. One of my friend suggested Jambu Fruit-Dove. While the bird is hiding we tried our best to locate them and soon enough go got out breakthrough.
It was on a tree near our car and the tree was fruiting.
Not long after we found out there was actually 2 male wandering around in a mix flock.
I must say the wait at the car park was worth while. We later headed to pangsun and also Gunung Nuang without much luck but more on butterfly.
Never get tire shooting a Jambu

Deleteit is always nice to observed this species. Never bored
A very pretty bird - aptly named, too. Its head and its breast patch look just like small jambu fruits.
