Is Nikon 1 V1 still a camera for "Digiscoping"?

It is already 10 years now for this unit and how do I feel using this unit which I have yet to change to a better micro four third camera of choice. Well for the sake of this posting lets not get into the technical specifications.

I won't say it is the camera of choice due to other latest modal but I do feel that it is still an camera where we can still use for digiscoping. Considering that the camera is now discontinue the crop factor attach together sometimes provide be a record shot of something very far away. Now lets say over 2k mm in equivalent such as the below photo of the Grey Headed Fish Eagle.

This provide a record shot of this bird and some video for observation as well. (Take note of the far distance between me and the bird)

When we talk about video, lets say we are not too fussy on the quality compare to more latest technology it does great and meet the objective. See some video below.

So in all you get what you roughly need. In term of picture value this is hard to say. Crispy shot of the DSLR and also more latest digiscoping camera of choice will definitely do better. However it doe not mean that the Nikon V1 can't meet everyone objective. In one just hope for record shot and also some data for collection this camera is not bad. See photo below

In all, one of the major draw back if the wireless shutter. Once on that mode you can't actually used multi shot. Therefore I always ended up with the cable release. This is not a big issue as sometime we can shot without using hand trigger for flying bird. In all I stink a budget constraint and/or still have thier Nikon v1 with them, it is not a bad idea to use them for digiscoping. Until one save up enough for better camera it is not bad unit to have. I currently have 2v1 and 1 j1 unit which I used for Digiscope and on standby. I think im going to keep this a for a longer period of time.
