Rufous Backed Kingfisher

The smallest kingfisher in the country. Also know previously as Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher. This species is know to frequent swampy area small forested stream and also forested area with nearby water. Previously know from two morph rufous back and black backed now listed as 2 different species. Having Black backed Kingfisher mainly migrant in the country rufous back are resident. Though nest was well observed and measurement was well taken. Period from March to May was also well documented. However there was no information on the incubating and fledging period. Two species mention in this month posting both have lack of information in incubating and also fledging period. Hopefully one day we will be able to close this gap soon.
