My first digiscoping equipment

I finally decided perhaps is not bad to share some of my equipment I have used previously and now in photography. This one is my first set up of serious digiscope adapter with a mirrorless camera. A combinaiton using a 82ED scope under the brand of omicron attach with Nikon V1 and J1 series. The scope was purchase with price of approximately 3.5k. Technically it is what i can afford at that time. I have now upgraded to a nikon 82ed from omicron scope but still keeping both equipment.

Omicron scope
In term of viewing this was an excellent scope. The waterproofing was great with no need of fear under drilling.  While i purchase angle scope this have provided me excellent view in both forest bird and raptor study. The scope provide excellent colour, very very low distortion (not notice at all unless digiscope picutre) and sharpness was great. Testing out in astronomy was not bad either. Jupiter was seen one and also moon watching was not bad all. Below is a picture of the scope.
The advantage was the scope was light. This provide easy to carry light and easy to maneuver in forested area. There is no saying how much i enjoy this scope while i was birding with my wife and also during guiding.

Adapter
In regards to adapter, mine was a customized design adapter. One of which design where i can attach and take off fast enough. In addition to this it fit all nikon 1 series with 10-30mm lens.
Bring to the handshake on this adapter lets say it all depend more on the tripod use and also the need to focusing while trying to shoot. If not this unit was great. Once attach to the scope the whole set up look like below.

Universal adapter
I did not go starting digiscoping without much test on adapter. One of which I still have it was this universal digiscoping adapter. This adapter was great. I fit almost all the point and shoot camera and together in the box was a phone attachment. The only draw back of this adapter was it does have flaring on the lens as it does not provide any cover. This can be overcome using a cloth or waterproofing cloth.

Camera
There is no saying what was preferred when i started digiscoping with this set up. Sony RX100 was much more expensive. This was purchase second hand. Similar purchase on my other nikon unit. Therefore i can only mention digiscoping through below camera
1. Nikon V1
2. Nikon J1
3. Canon powershot A2200.

Images.
The omicron 82ED scope provide decent IQ however having the camera started to void vignetting at only above 20mm this is actually a challenge to obtain very detail quality.

While this attach to a canon A2200 point and shoot camera the photo quality was only accetable due to the camera quality.

Preference
While i currently enjoy my nikon 82ed scope which was upgraded i still love this old set up in both way.
The set up of Omicron scope 82ED attach with Canon A2200 was an excellent for beginner. The whole set up cost me less then 5k which was rather a lot. While photo was secondary at that time this provide much enjoyment for recording purposes. There is in no way i would say the IQ rival other set up and brand nevertheless if one is looking for cheaper mean, easy to carry and so on this would be the choice
When i swith to the attach of nikon mirroless i would say it was a struggle. Nevertheless once i understand the problem im facing we do get acceptable shot.
This is in no way i would say it was a recomendation as there are more scope available now in the market compare to this approximately 8 years old equipment i have. I admit i love it a lot but there is still more to try out.
