Raptor Watch Week 2023 - 11 March 2023

 Today was of the day where I try not to missed the event the Raptor Watch Week. Well I was also looking forward to see some familiar face together with my wife and im sure she is also looking for time to do some shopping. Still I always trying to wait for some raptor to come up. 

Located in Malacca or also know as Cape Rachado is the nearest point between Malaysia and Indonesia. Raptor uses to closest point to fly to Indonesia. Leaving this point also mean that the raptor currently leave the mainland of Asia. Coming in from Indonesia the raptors return to mainland and migration will continue to fly inland up north. This is one route out of the 2 main route describe.

Nevertheless the interpretation that all raptor cross at this point is not true. Some raptor have island hop from Langkawi and I Have also seen raptor leaving the island of Penang. Don't forget raptor do cross in Singapore. All this make that the basis where people mention only site is not very true. 

Today we got some flock fly in. Below are 2 flock of raptor.

Some dark morph and pale morph as can be viewed nearer.
