Sekinchan 24 October 2022

Again this morning was raining heavily and our first destination was cancelled. We decided to head to Sekinchan after being told that some good raptor have made thier way in.

Sekinchan here we go!!!

If you ask for raptor and raptor was what you get. We saw some accipiter and honey buzzard flying high up in migration. Later some pied harrier and then this turn our unexpectedly perching on a line. (Not something you see on harrier)

After the above female a juvenile flew in with another near adult.

Later a male turn out from the ground and flew pass but was too fast for a good shot.

While looking for more raptor a pair of Oriental Pied Hornbill was sighted feeding on a banana tree.

A short video of it doing so

Tern were not exempted today as well. White Winged Tern put up some show for us.

Whiskered Tern was very polite today.

The Pacific Golden Plover take the bird of the day.

Some video of the Pacfici Golden Plover from the R7

and Sony RX 100 VA digiscope video which was taken when the bird is further away.
