Hulu Langat and surrounding June 5, 2022

 It was a last minute decision to join a friend of mine for bird watching. The plan was to visit a few different location and hope for some good bird and fruiting tree. At least I was not aware there was a fruiting tree in that location in the first place.

As usual I need to have my breakfast and this time my wife favourite shop in that location for wanton mee. :) we arrive there not too early nor it was too late. Just in time for me to set up my digiscope and also my sir for some slow walk and digiscope we come into a group of photographer on a fruiting tree. Hey guys I have not seen you all for some time now.:)

Some of the first excitement were the Grey Bellied Bulbul which make its way in.. I notice there were about 3 of them around.

I must say that the bulbul excitement for that day was never ending. Together with the flock were other species such as the striped throated bulbul and red eyed bulbul. Not to forget a lone Spectacle Bulbul.

A few Black Headed Bulbul was flying around through my heart is rushing for the grey morph and did not have any.

But I believe one of the most beautiful bulbul is the Scally Breasted Bulbul. A pair was making its way in and out of the fruiting tree.

The fruiting tree also attract some other species. The photographer mention there were at least 3 species of flowerpecker including the yellow breasted flowerpecker. On sight I mange to locate the Crimson Breasted Flowerpecker and photographer a Orange Bellied Flowerpecker. But I missed the Yellow Breasted Flowerpecker.

Other joining in the fruiting tree were the Asian Fairy Bluebird and lest skip the photo as mine was not post worthy. :)

but still the species such as Greater Green Leafbird both male and female joining in the crowd.

We soon change location to another area which resulted in the Rufous Backed Kingfisher. In this view now we also know why the old name of this species were Three Toed Kingfisher. Hey!! have a look on the leg. 2 were observed in the area although I was informed by the photographer on site that there were 3. :)

We manage to obtain some video of this species as in below here. PSSS> the video is in 4k so best with 4k resolution screen.

Other species we observed today were the Indian Cuckoo, Drongo Cuckoo which was calling all the time. Some Rufous Fronted Babbler and white chested babbler. Our commoner oriental magpie robin. For raptor a lone crested serpent eagle perching on a bare tree. Some baya weaver and nest around.

Anyway I must admit it was a great trip. We were later chase away by rain. Only draw back is that seem like the location anywhere you park you need to pay 5 ringgit. Hmmm which does not include any insurance. hmmm. this is demotivating.
