Kuala Selangor - Wader Watching 26 September 2021

Together with another friend decided to make this week a wader watching trip. I must say we have the tide, we have the light, we have the camera now lets the show began.!!!!!

And the show did began. We were hitting wader over wader almost in every direction. From Common Redshank to many other species. Large flock as the one below was already an amazing sight.

The Lesser Sand Plover in many plumage from partial breeding to no breeding and some juvenile were seen there.

Ruddy Turnstone is another small group which make the day exciting.

In additional to that other commoner such as these Red Necked Stint provide a good show as well. Bird was not disturb by our present and here we go for it.

One of our excitement was this Curlew Sandpiper with flag. This bird was banded in Mai Po Hong Kong. It did give us a hard time to get a few shot where the bird was not block and the band can be read.

Other sandpiper was this lonely (only one sighted) Broad Billed Sandpiper.

2 Sanderling was observed only one was photograph.

Other species seen in the area such as the Great Knot, Eurasian Curlew, Whimbrel, Bar Tailed Godwit, Terek Sandpiper and Greater Sand Plover were among the wader observed for that day.

Lesser Adjutant do make their way in once the tide retreated.

I must say what an amazing day it was. Can't wait for my next week adventure.
