Sungai Congkak 16 April 2023
It was suppose to be a normal trip when both I decided to head to Sungai Congkak. The idea was there should be less people in the area and we can have the location to myself. However when I arrived further in, my jaw drop with the amount of people in the area. Apparently there was a Malaysian Hawk Cuckoo in the area. To be honest I was not surprise at all as I seen this species many time in the area. What surprise me was that how tame this individual was. The cuckoo was also rather bold calling in the open and flying pass us a few time.
There was also a few spot for fruiting tree around that give us some species of bulbul.
A part from bulbul a pair of Greater Green leafbird was around too.
While the Hawk Cuckoo was that highlight for many, to be this family group of Dusky Broadbill give me some thrill I need. One juvenile was following the group of adult and was feed by the group.
