IBA MY11 - Selangor Coast

 Past few birding have been rather focusing on IBA MY11 area. Visited a few site with some great observation. This has include the sighting go the Cinnamon Headed Pigeon. At this point I'm wandering will I see the Orange Breasted Pigeon one of these days. This is also the location we see the masked finfoot. 

Where raptor are concern this IBA MY11 have recorded at more 20 species including, short toed snake eagle, common buzzard, osprey, peregrine falcon and many other

Heronry are also starting to increase with greater number of nest. This include large number of Cattle Egret and Black Crowned Night Heron. Little egret are less this time around but usually they are later in the season.

Lets not forget about the non resident heron such as is Javan Pond Heron. IBA MY11 is one of the location where I have seen all 3 species of Pond Heron.

Something have been missing in this location over the years back. The jetty in Sg Buloh were once very good for black kite however recent years we have yield nothing of this species in the jetty.

Being in the coast, wader are one of the many highly sort after. This location have yield many species where some of my lifer have been observed here. Species sighted here are such as Common Sandpiper, Broadbilled Sadpiper, Spoonbilled Sandpiper, Eurasian Curlew, Great Knot, Red Knot and many other more. Some wader as in below

Where coastline is the tern is another group we will be seeing. Not going to deny some interesting species seen in this area are such as Greater Crested Tern, Lesser Crested Tern, Caspian Tern, Gull Billed Tern, Briddled Tern, Sooty Tern, and many other more.

Kingfisher group are some of which commonly seen. Some commoner such as Collared Kingfisher, White Throated Kingfisher, and Stork Billed Kingfisher. Less Common including Ruddy Kingfisher, Blue Eared Kingfisher, Black Backed Kingfisher.

While we have exciting species, don't forget about our commoner. House Crow is one of them. Many other interesting commoner such as the Great Tit will provide you with some exciting chase in the area.
