Red color on nape.
Hind color bright red. Periorbital skin cobalt-blue rather than purple.
Head, throat are all black.
White crescent on breast. Remaining lower part are bright red.
Lack of black vermiculation on white part of tail

Black head and throat, Pink nuchal collar.
Maroon on crown usually appear black in field.
Periorbital skin purple rather than cobalt blue
Black upper brest with indistinct pinkish crescent on breast

Breeding and Behavior

Red-Naped Trogon
Cavity nester usually with nest level at 1,2 meter to 1.6 meter. Cavity are usually from rotten tree. Breeding from July to August.
Usually still hunt from perch. Once the bird call rarely the bird are on the move.
Diard’s Trogon
Nest cavity similar with nest seen up to 3 meter. Breeding from March to late May
No prey identified with hunting noted from still perch.
Cinnamon-Rumped Trogon
Nest cavity seen within 1-1.5meter on rotten tree. Breeding began April to june
Usually perch lower down is mid stratum and rarely perch in canopy level.
Perform still hunt. Other document poorly recorded.
Scarlet-Rumped Trogon
Rotten stump. Other detail poorly describe.
No reliable information
Still perch hunt. Also seen prey taken in mid flight.
Occasionally involve in mix flock
Orange-Breasted Trogon
Nest cavity from between 1.5m to 2m or other wise poorly documented.
Breed from January to April.
Involve in mix flock. Still hunt perch and one occasion mid flight catch was observed at the Gap.
Red-Headed Trogon
Very poorly recorded. One nest at 5m on rotten tree was document in Fraser’s Hill in Telekom loop.
Breeding period from march to may. Many individual observed in May with breeding evidence.
Sighted 700 meter asl upwards. Bird have been recorded near 2000m asl.
